The Revolutionary War. French commander Rochambeau supported the Americans. He strategized with George Washington. He marched his 5,000 soldiers from Rhode Island to Virginia to win the final battle of Yorktown. For the French, though, our battle was not as important as their own French Revolution. We’ll hear all about this from a direct descendant of Rochambeau.
